Singing songs is something that we do throughout our lives, starting with nursery rhymes like Old MacDonald had a farm or Twinkle twinkle little star. Since then, music has been a constant in my life, especially once I joined the church choir, and when I was able to accompany myself on the guitar or piano.

 

Over the years I have sung recitals with different partners across the United Kingdom, including organists Peter Nardone, David Dunnett and Sarah Baldock, Richard Evans (piano) at La Folle Journée in Nantes, and David McGuinness (harpsichord & fortepiano).

I first met Laetitia Fédérici when I taught her son singing at Trinity. She has an eclectic career and performs varied repertoire. As well as song recitals across Europe, future and recent projects include piano trio recitals, a piano four hands recital in Paris, a chamber music project combining poetry and the music of Brahms, Clara Schumann and Debussy for the festival Klassik in Brittany.

Laetitia studied in France at the Conservatoire of Cergy-Pontoise from where she graduated with four Gold Medals. After obtaining the Postgraduate Diploma in Performance at Trinity College of Music, she studied piano accompaniment at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she took part in the Young Songmakers’ Almanac with Graham Johnson, and in masterclasses with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. In 2002, she was awarded the first prize at the prestigious Gerald Moore Award for accompanists.

Laetitia performs widely as an accompanist in venues across London and further afield such as the Purcell Room, St Brides Church, St Clement Danes, the Foundling Museum, the Omnibus Theatre, the American Church in Paris, the festival Colla Voce in Poitiers (France) and the Radio Suisse Romande in Geneva. She has also been an official accompanist for the Wigmore Hall International Song Competition.  Laetitia also volunteers for the Candle Project at St. Christopher’s Hospice, using music therapy with bereaved children.
